![]() ![]() ![]() It doesn’t matter if the squares don’t show 1″ on the screen, I want it to be the same size as the paper I’m drawing on. I was able to do this with my pattern set to 91% zoom. I provided a simple alphabet in 16 count as well so this isn’t a problem if you are using my pattern, but if you want to use a fun alphabet you found with a different pattern, the main thing you need to do is match up the blocks as shown in the picture. Technically you could also use graph paper to trace over things, but this is easiest to do if you have both your pattern and alphabet in the same count. You will want to have one printed page of your pattern as shown and the alphabet loaded on the screen of your computer for ease. So the first way you can add your text in is pretty easy if you have your pattern/alphabet available as a pdf. There is a bit of leeway on each side so if you find your password is 82 squares for example, you should still be able to fit it in. 5 x 16 = 80, so you basically have 80 square to work with in this space. These lines each measure 5″ in 16 count and are there as a guide to help you place your text. It is in 16 count and I drew a big ass red line across the piece under “Wifi Network” and “Password”. I’ll be using snippets of my pattern for this demonstration, I tried to make this as easy as possible when designing. One uses a bright computer screen and is done more visually, the other, and more accurate method, uses simple addition to mathematically work up your customized pattern! So I decided to test out a few ways to easily add in text to a cross stitch project without using any special software. How can I change cross stitch text WITHOUT special software? I love MacStitch and other software design because I can easily add in a whole line of text, but I understand not everyone is used to working with design software, and dropping money and time just to add in some text is probably more work than necessary. Obviously, wifi information can change, it’s quite a bit of text, and not everyone is going to feel comfortable sharing this information with strangers over the internet. ![]() I recently designed a wifi sampler pattern and was mulling over how I would make this pattern more accessible for stitchers. ![]()
